It is time to join with family, friends, co-workers, and others to celebrate the coming holiday season with singing, food, and bright lights - YEAH!
But what about the people who have lived through 90 holiday seasons and have outlived many of their friends and even many of their family members? During the holidays, many adopt families in an effort to provide toys and gifts for those who may struggle to afford something nice.
What if we adopted those without families as well? For so many, the holidays are not seen as joyful but rather a time of sad reflection on years gone and memories slipping.
Is there an action to be taken? Open your heart and your door. It will not require buying the latest video game at Target or Walmart, rather, just remembering that forgotten joys of others can be rekindled with each of us taking the hand of someone who just needs to know they are still a bright light on this earth in this time.
